Meet Nathan & Rose Martin, your Coach and support team for Tri Squad 2026. 

Nathan has been coaching triathletes from beginners to age group world champion qualifiers for well over a decade. Qualifying for world championships himself and completing over 10x Ironman events and countless Half ironman & 70.3 events Nath believes in leading by example and is here to share his knowledge and experience with you. Nath is an Ironman Certified Coach and Tri NZ accredited coach.

Rose is your number one supporter and source of fun and motivation. You will often see Rose behind the camera ready to capture your special moments on your journey with Tri Squad.

Level up in 2026

We’re levelling up for 2026 — a sharper focus on key triathlon and running events, stronger team development, and even deeper support. This is your chance to be part of something special and take the next step forward on your journey.

Key prep sessions (NEW)

The most important time to dial in is before your event. This year we are running event specific prep sessions that will give you the opportunity to practice, fuelling, pacing and the event day mindset. Your coach Nathan Martin along with Rose will be heavily involved in supporting and guiding you in these sessions which will be designed specifically for each event.

We have an event calendar to keep you motivated throughout the whole year with exciting triathlon and running events. Each of the key prep sessions will be dialled in specifically for the event we are aiming for.

Schedule above: *dates are subject to change if events move. We will always do our best to deliver the sessions below, if weather or anything unforeseen occurs that requires a change in plan we will do our best to provide a back up plan.

Run Club

As a Tri Squad member you have a full years membership to our long standing Run Club with group training sessions Monday + Wednesday each week 6:30-7:30pm in the Lower Hutt area.

These sessions productive, fun and a great way to connect with your training buddies each week.

Pool Swim Technique Blocks (NEW)

This year we are running 2x 4 week swim technique clinics where you’ll get a chance to learn and develop your swim technique.

  • Block 1 – June 5,12,19,24 (6-7pm at Huia Pool, Lower Hutt*) 
  • Block 2 – September 4,11,18,25 (6-7pm at Huia Pool, Lower Hutt*)

 

* Subject to Huia Pool re-opening, back up will be Te NgaeNgae Pool. You will also have to pay for your pool entry for these sessions.

Ocean Swim Prep Sessions

You will get the opportunity to come together in 3x quality blocks leading into the triathlon events on our calendar. Meeting Fridays 6pm at Petone Beach to get you ready for each of our 3x triathlon events.

The sessions are designed so you can build your confidence swimming in the ocean with others. Catering for all levels.

  • Block #2 – Ironman NZ/70.3 event prep, Friday 13, 20, 27 February 2026
  • Block #3 – IronMaōri event prep, Friday 16, 23, 30 October 2026

Quarterly Squad Social Hangouts (NEW)

Each quarter we will organise a social hangout with one of our local partner businesses.

A chance to connect and hangout outside of triathlon training and supporting local Wellington businesses.

Tri Squad Prizegiving

 

We will celebrate a year of success where we come together, share good food and talk about all of the amazing moments of the year.

 

We also give out our annual awards:

 

  • The Biggest Change – goes to someone who has made a significant change over the year.
  • The Change Fitness Cup – goes to someone succeeding on their own journey as well as supporting others.

Membership

 

  • Tri Squad 2026 is an annual membership which runs from 1 January – 31 December 2026
  • Signing up requires a full year commitment 
  • We have a limited number of spaces for 2026 – get in quick if you want to be part of an amazing Tri Squad
 
Fees
 
  • Early bird $50.00NZ weekly for the full 52 weeks (signing up before 9th November 2025)
  • Regular rate $65.00NZD weekly for the full 52 weeks (signing up after 10th November 2025)
